Orthodox small definition

The feldspar is a kind of feldspar and is an aluminosilicate of potassium. There are many colors of feldspar, which are generally produced in granite. The feldspar is an important rock-forming mineral, and it exists in many rocks. The feldspar can be used as a raw material for the manufacture of glass and ceramics, and a good quality transparent feldspar crystal can also be used as a gemstone. The name comes from the Greek words "ortho" and "kalo", which respectively mean "right angle" and "cleavage", which means that the mineral has an orthogonal cleavage plane.

Orthodox Orthoclase: an insoluble potassium salt mineral.

Feldspar is the most widely distributed mineral family in the earth's crust. All crystalline rocks are rich in feldspar except for some ultrabasic rocks.

Moonstone is the most precious of the feldspar gems, and people believe it can bring a good fate. Moonstone is used as the birthstone of June. Labradorite was used as a gemstone after it was discovered in the 18th century. It is multiplied by the rainbow effect. Tianhe Stone is a kind of green potassium-containing micro-plagioclase, which is a lower-grade gem.

1. Chemical composition; potassium feldspar (trans-feldspar) is KAISi3O8; plagioclase is NaAISi3O8-CaAISi3O8 transition series.

2. Morphological and physical properties: feldspar is mostly triclinic. It is often in the form of a plate or a prismatic crystal. Twin crystals are common (Casbah twin).

The feldspar is mostly colorless and white, the Tianhe stone is green, the glass is lustrous, the streaks are white, the transparent one is opaque, the hardness is 6-6.5, the specific gravity is 2.55-2.75, and it is completely cleavable in two directions.

Photographic characteristics: Moonstone and Tianhe stone are biaxial crystal negative light, and labradorite is biaxial crystal light. The long hundred refractive index changes between 1.522 and 1.580, the birefringence is 0.008-0.010, the dispersion is 0.12, and the X-ray transmission is translucent.

3. Luminescence and absorption spectrum: UV-fluorescence Moonstone is pink under short-wave, Tianhe stone is weak yellow-green under long wave, and Sunlight has no fluorescence or variegation under long and short waves, and Labradorite has no fluorescence. X-ray fluorescence - the Tianhe stone is very weak green, the moonstone is light blue to light purple blue, the daylight stone is white, and the labradorite is non-fluorescent. Gem-quality feldspar generally has no absorption spectrum response.

4. Inclusion characteristics: Moonstone has a scorpion-like inclusion along the twin plane; elongated stone with small leaves or needle-like inclusions. The inclusion minerals are mainly various feldspar varieties formed by dissolution.
