The United States will reassess its export control policy to China

US Commerce Secretary Gary Locke said on the 12th that the United States is reviewing its export control policy for high-tech products in China, and more relevant news may be announced in the coming months.

Locke said that some high-tech products that the United States restricts exports to China based on security considerations are already very open all over the world, which makes regulation seem meaningless. Locke pointed out that less than 5% of US merchandise exports to China require a license, and most of the technology products exported to China are passed in a very fast way.

China has always believed that the "conservative" of the United States in the export of high-tech products is an important reason for the imbalance between China and the United States. Therefore, the United States has been called upon to relax restrictions on the export of high-tech products to China.

In this regard, Locke said that expanding exports to China, rather than restricting imports from China, would be a better solution to the US trade deficit. In order to achieve this goal, the United States will actively promote the export of goods and services to China.
